Heal Your Headaches + Migraines with Ayurveda with Trupti Gokani, MD
As you are likely aware- we have a HUGE national problem with those suffering in pain overusing narcotic medications. There are 36 million migraineurs and 100 million pain sufferers in the US that have NO IDEA why they suffer. Instead of delving into the root causes of pain and understanding their pain from an ancient model, they use strong abortives (as needed meds) such as narcotics, anti-inflammatories, steroids to break cycles of pain vs using a model of connection with themselves to reduce pain over time.
Over the course of time, the pain only worsens and addiction is bound to happen. Trupti Gokani, MD on a mission to stop this epidemic and help people really understand the purpose of their pain. It helps that now the CDC (and Hillary Clinton) are pushing reform in this area. Docs, patients and other providers are now left with going to route causes, yet they are not trained on how to do that. Its a fascinating time educating others about this!
In the last 15 years of her practice,Trupti Gokani, MD have been talking about gut-brain links but only in the last 1-2 years has it hit the conversation almost EVERYWHERE. EVEN PHARMA!!! She was one of the top speakers last year for Teva because they are addressing this concept with the new products they are creating to improve pain. They are on a socially responsible mission to help education millions. The beauty is that Ayurveda teaches these concepts and using this ancient model can truly advance western medicine.
