Women are Water Quick review on part 1: Own your midline. Keep our watery bodies uncongested, unpolluted and grounded.First – thank you for the overwhelmingly positive response from Part 1. I am thrilled to have connected with you all. Now, we’ve established the premise: we need to own the midline; women have more water; men have more fire; water pollutes easily; polluted water disrupts the clarity needed to own our center.Water has the properties (gunas) of flow, wet, soft, cloudy, and cool. Did you know getting colds is optional? Most parents I know assume that getting colds is part of normal childhood terrain. And it is normal, in terms of common, but it’s not normal in terms of healthy. Colds occur with an unhealthy lymph system or an depleted immune system. Your child’s body is communicating through signs and symptoms exactly what is going on inside. If you know how to read the signs, you know how to prevent a cold. If you don’t...
"Wild weeds grow on every continent of the globe next to human civilizations. Their home is planet earth and their niche is disturbed and compact soils. Humans and weeds are a perfect example of a symbiotic relationship. Humans help make the ground "fertile" for these species that grow in disturbed sites. Wherever we live, we disturb the ground and compact the soil. Our survival foods and medicines are soon to follow. They provide a source of protein, abundant vitamins, a rainbow of minerals and enzymes. If we had to live on these permaculture plants alone, we would not only survive but thrive as well. The roots, seeds, fruits and greens are edible in different seasons providing our bodies with abundant nutrition year round. Our human activities encourage the weeds to take hold for only a period of time. Once the land becomes re-fertilized and stable again, these first succession plants (the weeds) will move on to other disturbed soils. The dandelions, the mallow weeds, the plantains, the purslane, and yes, even and especially the thistles, are the medicines and foods our society needs right now: liver cleansers, colon scrubbers, chlorophyll, minerals, muscle and tissue toners, bone builders, and organ strengtheners."[caption id="attachment_5142" align="alignright" width="179"]

A cohort in a course I'm taking, asked me if I was hung up seeking the all-pervasive classical yoga value of tranquility from my life. She was referring to a commonly held misperception yoga to me meant an end-game of my inner mind and outer life would reflect the tranquility of a 15th century practicing male Indian celibate. While I said, "No… that wasn’t quite it,"… a few days later I see remnants of my not-quite-resolved-pattern. Moving crayons, dolls and a plastic dump truck away from my practice area I feel a...
