Start Your Book Club in 4 Easy Steps
Years ago I taught a few yoga classes each week at Yoga Tejas in Driggs, Idaho. From time to time I tossed around the idea of starting a book club with my students.
I didn’t want anything that would take a lot of time or require much planning.
What I did want was a way for us to deepen our conversation off the mat. I wanted us to have more points to connect the dots of what was happening on the mat into our day-to-day conversations.
Driggs is a small town. I’d run into students and teachers at the natural food market. We’d ride the chairlift together up the ski hill. I wish we had started reading the same book at the same time then. Our relationships and community would be even stronger if we had.
Today’s podcast is all about how to do this. I’ve made it super simple for you to take hold if this idea is sparky. I even have a step by step guide if you want to start with Body Thrive as your first book.
In the interview I talk to Chris Loebsack whose yoga studio has been running a book club for 5 years. They’ve plowed through over 50 books. Amazing. Inspiring.
Check out what she and her book club members learned along the way.
