For Yoga Teachers Working with Constitutions
Having an understanding of constitutional (prakruti) tendencies can greatly improve your ability to connect with your students. If we don’t understand constitution often we just project our experience of yoga onto our students. For example, if you’re strongly driven and have pitta tendencies and you notice one of your students continually seem distracted and can’t link instructions within their own body, you might feel disconnected from them. Simply using your drive to connect intuitively with them will start to shift their practice. You might simply offer them to lower their gaze towards the earth and feel their feet on the floor.
In the clip above I give a few examples of working with a typical Vata, Pitta, and Kapha type in a yoga class. My Ayurvedic Living Course is primarily geared to yogis and yoga teachers.
